How NoSpike works

Measure. Compare. Route.

NoSpike measures your connection to the game server, compares it with its own relays, and only routes your game when that improves your ping, jitter or packet loss.

  1. Measure

    We test your direct route to the game server: ping, jitter and packet loss.

  2. Compare

    Then the same through each NoSpike relay, to find a better route if there is one.

  3. Route

    If a relay is faster, only your game's traffic goes through it, in an encrypted QUIC tunnel (TLS 1.3).

  4. Keep checking

    It tests again every minute while you play, and switches only when another route is clearly better.

FAQ

The questions players ask before they install.

Is this a VPN?

No. A VPN sends all of your traffic through its servers and changes the location websites see. NoSpike only routes traffic to supported games' servers, through an encrypted QUIC tunnel to one of its relays. Browsing, streaming and downloads stay on your normal connection.

Can I get banned?

NoSpike never touches game files or game memory, and nothing is injected into the game. It only routes the game's network traffic. We can't speak for every publisher's rules, so if you're unsure, check the game's terms.

Why does Windows warn during install?

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Microsoft SmartScreen doesn't recognise it and may show "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info, then Run anyway.

Does it help everyone?

No. If your ISP already has a good route to the game server, a relay can't beat it. The app measures your direct ping first and shows "Direct is fastest" when that's the case. NoSpike's relays are in Europe, so it's built for players in Europe.

The ones in the games list above, which comes live from our servers. More are added regularly, partly learned from players who help map game servers.

What does it cost?

Nothing during our launch: NoSpike Pro, which optimizes your routes, is free for every account with a confirmed email address. The app shows the end date, and we'll tell you well before it ends.
